With profound sadness, the communities of Avon, Indiana, Indianapolis, and Clear Lake, Iowa, are mourning the loss of Scott McIntire, whose passing has left family members, friends, coworkers, and loved ones grieving the loss of a man remembered for his professionalism, compassion, and unwavering devotion to those around him. A native of Clear Lake, Scott was a proud graduate of Clear Lake High School, Class of 1999. Those who knew him during his early years remember a hardworking and dependable individual whose character and determination were evident long before he built a successful career in property management. Following high school, Scott continued his education at University of Iowa, earning his degree in 2003 and laying the foundation for a career defined by leadership, integrity, and service to others. Scott dedicated more than a decade of his professional life to the property management industry, where he earned the respect of colleagues and residents alike through his commitment and genuine care for people. In 2010, he joined Van Rooy Properties as a Property Manager in Indianapolis. Over the years, his professionalism, reliability, and ability to lead with empathy helped him rise through the organization, eventually serving as Regional Property Manager from 2021 through 2024. Coworkers often described Scott as someone who approached challenges with calmness and integrity. He was known not only for maintaining properties and overseeing operations, but for building meaningful relationships with tenants, staff, and community members. His leadership style reflected patience, respect, and a sincere desire to help others succeed. Most recently, Scott began a new chapter in his career with Brookside Properties, Inc., where he stepped into the role of Regional Property Manager in March 2024. Friends and colleagues say he embraced the position with the same enthusiasm and dedication that had become hallmarks of his career. His sudden passing has deeply affected those who worked alongside him, many of whom considered him not just a colleague, but a trusted mentor and friend. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Scott’s greatest pride was his family. He shared a loving marriage with Natalie Castagno McIntire, whom he married on August 30, 2008. Together, they built a life centered on love, support, and devotion to their children. Natalie, owner of Natalie McIntire Photography, shared with Scott a partnership grounded in mutual encouragement and deep family values. Those closest to Scott remember him for far more than his career titles or accomplishments. They remember a man with a warm smile, a generous heart, and a steady presence that brought comfort to others. He was someone people could rely on — a devoted husband, caring father, loyal friend, and respected professional whose kindness left a lasting impact wherever he went. The grief surrounding Scott’s passing reflects the many lives he touched throughout his years in Iowa and Indiana. In moments like these, communities are reminded that a person’s true legacy is measured not only by professional success, but by the compassion, support, and love they leave behind in the hearts of others. As family, friends, coworkers, and loved ones continue to mourn this tremendous loss, they also celebrate the remarkable life Scott lived and the example he set through his integrity, dedication, and care for others. His memory will continue to live on in the countless people whose lives were made better simply by knowing him.
